Metronidazole Side Affects

Today, I was prescribed Metronidazole 500 MG; 2 pills a day. I didn't even think about eating before I took them and for about 4 hours now I've felt very nauseous and even threw up a few times. Is there anything I can eat, drink, or do to help the nausea? It's the worst feeling in the world. I've also been very drowsy and dizzy.
And one more thing, I have a VERY hard time swollowing pills and I'll usually freak out right when I go to swollow and choke or spit it up. For this exact pill if I were to crush it up and put it in a drink what drink would you suggest for the awful taste of the pill?

I recieved the Metronidazole inj. 3 days ago today for a UTI. My doctor told me within 2 days I should feel better, but it's day 3 now and it still hurts when I pee and I still feel very uncomfortable and just not right down there. Does anyone know how long it takes for the inj. to fully work? I don't wanna call my doctor quite yet about it.

The solution to nausea is most often as simple as taking it with food, rather than on an empty stomach. Other side effects may possibly include dizziness, headache and diarrhea, as listed by the FDA.

June, has there been any improvement, yet? You should contact your doctor, usually you should start to see improvement after 3 days.
