Metoprolol And Stomach Problems

I been on metoprolol for 2 months and at the beginning I experience severe constipation and now I have loose stools and it makes my sugar drops to very low levels to the point of i can not take metforming any more because I am afraid of an episode, and it gives a constant dry mouth how long before the stomach symtoms go away?

Actually, the side effects should have hit their peak and started tapering off at around 4 to 6 weeks of use.

However, Metoprolol is a beta blocker, used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions and some people tend to have bad reactions to them. If your symptoms have not started to improve, you should contact your doctor, because this is probably not the right medication for you.

I also experienced severe problems with Metoprolol and had to stop taking it. I am not sure what country you are in to know the exact ones, but there are many other medications on the market that can be used for both high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, so your doctor should not have a problem switching you to something else.

I was on Metoprolol for two years. And also on Aciphex, to control the GERD that suddenly appeared when I started taking it. No other heartburn medication worked, but Aciphex is expensive. Finally got my cardiologist to switch me over to Carvedilol and the GERD disappeared completely. Now, any over the counter antacid takes care of what minimal indigestion I get. I can sleep at night, and no burning pain in my esophagus. Cardiologist still doesn't think it makes a difference. I can state for a fact that it does!
