Metoprolol is a selective beta receptor blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases.
The reason that your hands and feet may feel cold, after taking it, is because it can reduce blood flow to those areas. If you smoke or drink alcohol, it can worsen this effect, Most blood pressure medications can cause similar effects.
Other side effects may include: nausea, headache, dizziness and stomach pain.
