What is this drug used for? Is it given for colds and/or flu ? ## A better question to you is: after reading that is is an ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, at what point do you actually think it could possibly be used for the COLD OR FLU? Just wondering if you are REALLY that dense in the head ## Methylprednisolone is actually NOT an anti-inflammatory, either. It is a steroid, which can help with inflammation, but it has many other uses as well, such as treating allergic reactions. Some common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, weight gain and headache. It did NOTHING to improved the congestion, in fact, it made it worse because I could not cough up the phlem. ...

my son a meth addict and found a stash of these in room can this be abused? ## Methylprednisolone is used to treat severe allergies, arthritis, andcan also be used as a pain reducer. I believe this drug can be addictive, some hospitals use Methylprednisolone along with morphine for the reduction of pain after an operation for spinal stenosis or a herniated intervertebral disc.
