Ive been addicted to heroin for 8 years and ive detoxed and relapsed numerous times. Last year the suboxone really helped but its not working for me now, its only making me feel worse. I just recently did a week locked up on rikers island and they had me on methadone and tapered me off it. I really do not want to go on the maintenance program for a couple reasons, one, they totally dose you up on it and I dont want to be hooked on that taking over 100mg a day and sleeping in my soup and two, its not close to me, i would have to drive 25 mins every morning to go up there. I know a couple people who get meth prescribed by a doctor which is what i would like to do so i could start at a reasonable dose lilke maybe 60mg and the just be tapered off it under the supervision of a doctor. Good morning, I'm new to this chat, I'm located in Suffolk Long Island and ISO of a pain management MD here.. I suffer from RSD and desperate to get off opiates. I've tried on my own and could not endure the pains of withdraws. I have insurance but the waiting lists for the two "county-clinics" are 6 MONTHS. I am at my wits end. I've been on 95 mg. Of liquid methadone for 4 yrs. I am 330lbs 39 yrs old and quit 3 days ago cold turkey um im very afraid now. Please tell me what can I expect to happen? Looking for a pain management doctor in the pittsburgh area. I m a combat veteran that has been in multiple IED explosions that messed up my back and neck and gives me constant headaches. Unfortunately the VA refuses to help me because I told them I had a problem with the vicodin and perks they gave me after two surgeries a few years ago, I took too many b/c they werent helping, but now i'm marked as an addict. I have been on 20-25mg methadone pills for two years now and it has done wonders for me, no need for anything else and can work while on it. I take Raitidine, Badofen, Meloxicam, and Oxycodone. I never used Methadone in my life but can back positive for it. Can you please help me with this problem because I never took Methadone in my life and failed a 10 panel drug test for Methadone.

I am to appear in court soon regarding my children and their father. He has filed for custody because of someone who I had in my home who got arrested on drug charges. I have been in no trouble what so ever. CPS is not involved but will be drug tested by the courts. My question is if I am receiving methadone dosed by a clinic would this go against me since it would be prescribed by a doctors office? Guess I'm just looking for someone who has been through this or someone who knows the ins and outs with prescribed medicines and courts. Do they look down or can this be used against a person?

Yes, any doctor that has a license to prescribe medications can prescribe it for pain, the only restriction is when it's being prescribed for drug addiction. However, many will not do so, because it carries a very high risk of being habit forming, as warned by the FDA and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Hydroxyzine 50mg 4 time daily. Bus par 60 mg daily clonazapam 1mg 3a day melatonin 10mg bedtime. Does any take away the effect of methadone. I am on 244 mg a day due to rapid metabolism. Had, a few peak and trough to determine this. I have gen anxiety disorder and ptsd and fibro. Also medial temporal sclerosis I'm on lamictal for mood. And undocumented seizures. I am being switched from methadone 10mgs 2x a day with narco 10/325 4x a day for a drug called EMBEDA 50mg morning, and 30mg at night. with narco 7.5 as break through medicine.The medicines I were already taking started to be not working so well after so many years. This drug is very new and don;t know, because I still have to go through some withdraws, and. Was wondering if anyone knew about this Embeda? I am currently uninsured, and with the help of an attorney, am trying to get disability benefits. I am in chronic pain (over 20 years) and currently going to methadone clinic. I started at clinic 6 years ago when my regular Dr. moved out of state. He was prescribing me duragesic 75. The methadone clinic is expensive and is no longer controlling the pain. I have fairly recent mri's. Ruptured and herniated discs. and am looking for a pain management Dr. that takes uninsured patients. My disability claim was denied and is currently being appealed mainly due to the fact that my pain med is prescribed under drug dependence guidelines (not pain management).
