Methadone, Oxycodone, Suboxone
(Newest replies first)

Updated

Need to talk to someone very bad. I've been taking methadone for 20 years, in May I started winging myself down. I got to 5 to 10 milligrams then ran out so I started taking 5 milligram oxycodone. I have a few 2 milligram and 8 milligram suboxone. When can I take them? Living in Mountain Home, Arkansas is there any Doctor I can go to that prescribes? I have been shot and have a lot of nerve damage. Also I have not been through serious withdrawal. I think I've been on methadone so long that it has covered my receptors and it is not leaving my body. NEED HELP

You have to be in full withdrawal, before you can take Suboxone, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. Taking it before then could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawal.

If you want to check for a doctor in your area that treats with it, you can use the search engine on the Suboxone website, you can find it at Suboxone.com click here. The results will include their contact information, so you can check to see if they are accepting new patients.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
