Methadone Doctor In Louisville Ky

I've had chronic pain due to autoimmune diseases for several yrs. I have been seeing a PM doctor in another state but now am in Louisville, Ky staying with a family member who has cancer. I will be here indefinitely and am running into dead ends finding a doctor who is willing to see me and write my Methadone 10 mg that I take 4 x a day. Any suggestions? It is costing me $400 a month to fly round trip each month.

What you really need to do is make an appointment with someone as a new patient, but without asking them ahead of time if they'll prescribe any certain medication.

You can tell them what your health issues are, but if you ask for a particular medication, especially one like this that is a controlled substance, most doctors and their staff are taught to view that as drug seeking behavior and they will automatically just say no and refuse to see you.

Thus, you need to get in with a doctor first and just make sure to take a full copy of your current medical records with you, or have them sent to their office in time for the appointment.

Once they can see your diagnosis, as well as test results and what medications have and haven't worked for you in the past, they will be more likely to prescribe accordingly, since it's been documented by a fellow physician that they can always contact with any questions.

Your other PM doc may even be able to give you a letter of reference to help. My doctor did that for me, when I was on pain management and we had to relocate.

I am having a very difficult time finding a pain mgt. Dr. I was seeing a really good one whom was helping me. Then due to illness other then my horrible pain, I had to miss a couple of appts and they dismissed me! I called and let them know ahead of time and rescheduled! I had been seeing this Dr. for 4 years and he giving me injections plus 180 methadones per mth plus 120 percocet 10s. so, now I have to try to find a new pain mgt. Dr. I feel like I was treated very unfair but, of course that does not matter. now my life is being controlled by pain and it is depressing me very bad. I have seen a primary care whom has sent a referal letter to a pain mgt. Dr 3 times and I have not heard from them yet. I have lupus, degenerative disc disease, and fibromyalgia. I can barely walk and due to they pain of lying on my bones, I can not sleep. What am I going to do?

My friend was going to a dr doesn't like him need names of Drs who prescribe methadone you can not keep going to different Drs hoping one writes for methadone

Who was the Dr bc my cousin was getting the same 2 meds from a pm Dr for 15 yrs and he dropped her!

Hi carol my name is Tammy and I found a great clinic that is both pain management and family dr. The name is pearl clinic and it's located on Gardiner place off popular level rd. They accept new patients and also accept all insurance and if no insurance the office fee is 100 dollars first visit and 80 afterwards. Google their phone number and give em a call hope all goes well for you

Look my life has been turned upside down by pain. I work hard manual labor all my life, and my back is jacked. I have had my left shoulder replaced I need the other one done. Now my knees are hurting like hell. I have been on pain meds sinse I was 6 or 7 years old.
