Methadone And Norco
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I have been clean from methadone for 3 weeks now, after 10 days I started feeling a lot better. Withdrawals were not too bad, just weak and no energy. I was on them for 3 years and tapered down to 4mg before I completely quit. I feel pretty good id say. But was wondering if i were to take my norco prescription, will i get sick all over again? How long should I wait? Or if i take a methadone will i get sick?

This is not true. I took opiates for pain from 2001-2005, then I didn’t take them again regularly until 2012 & it was like starting over all over again. I had the same nausea/constipation that I had in the beginning and even now, in 2021 I am not up to the dose I was taking in 2005.
But I am not an addict or abusing them, so maybe it’s different?
I just wanted to say, no, not necessarily because I don’t have the tolerance I had in 2005, even after more than twice as many years.
I have leukemia and have severe bone and joint pain from both the leukemia and the chemo that I take. I was wondering if I switched from norco to methadone if this could help?
Absolutely! Your body is so raw that when you come off from taking just a few norcos, I guarantee you'll be sick again.
If you start taking Norco they will probably not make you sick until you stop taking them. Why are you taking the Norco if you are feeling pretty good. The one thing you will find is that your tolerance will increase much faster then when you were taking methadone along with the feeling that you have to have them just to get your day started. Even if you stop taking a opiate and wait years before you start taking a opiate again it will be just a matter of weeks before you are taking the highest levels of meds you needed to get though each day. If you are taking the Norcos for another reason besides moderate to severe pain then you have a problem and should think about getting some help before it destroys your life.
