Methadone , Suboxone , Addiction .

I have been taking Methadone for Pain & addiction for years . I have cut my dosage down from 80 Mg a day to 25 Mg a day & feel much better . My ? is it a must to wait 48 to 72 hours before Switching to Suboxone . This is what iv,e always been told .

Yes, you must be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone, otherwise it could cause you to experience dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to FDA warnings. It also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

The exact time frame can vary from person to person, but you must be in full withdrawal.
