Methadone Prescription In Michigan

I need help finding a doctor in Michigan to prescribe me Methadone. Right now it is so hard and expensive, not to mention they are so hard to get they are around maybe once a month. I can't go to a clinic everyday does anyone know of a doctor that would prescribe by month or week?

It sounds like you've been taking Methadone for some time now. Perhaps it's time you just stopped taking drugs?? Methadone doesn't need to be taken for a month to cure you of your addiction. My feelings are that you are now addicted to Methadone. That's probably why you have to buy it on the street. No doctor is going to pander to that. Get off the opiates - go through the withdrawals and get on with your life. (I did this myself before).

PLUS! Heres my story! ive been on suboxone for awhile for 1 1/2 years it start good then mood swings started? i spoke to my doc when i did he said a ekg’s is what will start with did it what a goof! He said no, when b4 he used to prescribe it to patients for abuse then some1 messed it up he got rated> It’s been up & down with it crazy! So i went to a different doc! what a surprise he gave me a script of methadone, the problem was he said i need a physical which starts from $300 to $600 what a scam i had a car accident in 06 got sent to henry ford but they never added my back injury (nerve damage) so i live in MI i hate clinics i never went but i heard there like being raped in chains.. Can some1 help me please live MI.. I need a doc that’s cool My doc name is pinson but it sucks going to doc to doc until u find one it’s like finding the perfect ring! u know! God help u all finding a doctor because when i was on it i was happy better even my father after years said iam proud!

From what I have read on this website, they discontinued it for some reason in MI. I imagine it's cheaper for the pharmacy ?

Chances are, they're not going to give you carries until you've proven yourself to the clinic/pharmacist. I know that's how it is in Canada anyways. I lived in BC, and I think it was about two months of clean urine tests until i finally got my carries ( drink 2x a week, pickup 5 ) so even then they still have you coming back to the pharmacy twice a week. I only had to see the doctor once every two months or so.

Your best bet IS to doctor shop. You absolutely need a good doctor. My doctor in BC was amazing and if I had anyone short of him I probably wouldn't of been able to kick the dope.. So you need someone who is on the same level as you & is going to encourage you and help you. Sorry I can't help with a specific doctor, but I just wanted to let you know chances of getting carries within your first visit is EXTREMELY thin.

As you know, methadone is extremely lethal. If they give you your weeks worth all at once, there is a very high chance you will abuse/overdose/sell yourself short. Pharmacies aren't willing to take that kind of risk.

As a methadone user (soon to be ex-user) my suggestion, if your dose isn't that high, is to kick it. But only if you're comfortable that you won't go back into using. Take two weeks off of work and straight up kick the devil in the ass. Because, inevitably, methadone is just putting off the dope sickness. Which, in return, gives you a dope sickness far beyond your wildest dreams. It's not a two or three day thing either. Some people on high doses can take over a month to kick it cold turkey. I just hope you will consider this, as I would rather see you kick it than you coming back in a year saying " i found a doctor, but now i need off of methadone." I'm 22, and to be honest at first methadone helped but now i know it's the root of my problems.

Yes dr. Pinson is willing to help u get off met i always saw cj and the best part is you can finally be honest with a dr. But again they have regulations against met for addiction and not pain mngt.

When in Pain I use Methadone. However some Folks that have "Misused" drugs have a pattern of continuing to use the Drugs in an unhealthy and destructive method. Let's face it "Addictive Behavior" is taking something that you do not need. There is a group of people that believe it can never be stopped, but they are wrong. Quitting the med's or street drugs is not only possible, but needs to happen if the pain is gone. Quitting is possible and nobody needs the drugs permanently, unless the pain is present, but we have believed that people will die if not getting what they Want. Stopping is hard but can be done, and should be expected to last about 8-14 days cold turkey. Be kind to yourself, a very small dose can be used to stop the worst of the chills aches, and hot flashes, but this will make your job of quitting last longer. Simply figure that 8-14 days after your last dose is still a dangerous time, you have to stay away from all the people that used to use with you and decide that you don't want to be an addict. Every moment will have to be willfully overcome, that is you will need to stay off it for the rest of your life. It gets easier as time goes by, and maybe you can win the war and take your life back.... I did this with some very bad white powders when young, and you can win the war with these mind bending Drugs if you want to be alive, and Free. Addiction is not something that is permanent, as some would have you believe, it can be done, It is up to You, how do you want to live, being an Addict, or being a Human in charge of your own actions. I did it, so can you!!!

Hollyjane, did u end up getting off of the methadone? If so, how bad was it and how long did it last? I have been on it for over 6 years for pain, and due to issues with my doctor and not being able to find a new one, I had cut down to one 10 Mg pill every other day and still had bad withdrawal when I stopped and am looking to go back on it. Just wondering how to taper this, if there is any way, so that I can stop if I want.

I don't think it is fair for all of you to assume this person has an addiction problem. He was given methadone for pain. The VA will ONLY give methadone now. The person was on hear for help. Just because the person below had a problem and got off it himself, means nothing to a pain patient.

It unfair to judge or assume. If you did any research you will see all Dr.'s are running scared. Pharmacy's are being watched mom and pops being shut down because they order too much of a drug in a small town where that is the only pharmacy.

To the person seeking methadone, try a pain page. You will be greeted with kinder words and probably more help.

I know the feeling! I live in Eastern KY and it's almost 2 hours in each direction to get to a clinic but Suboxone clinics are on every corner. I hope you already got help!

Yes, I know that Pain Management on Pasadena/Stone Rd. I went there awhile & they are not stingy, they really understand & try to treat your pain. Also, not very far is the BEST doctor, he is in Frankfort ( not too far) Dr. Lingreen. He is very nice & he does prescribe methadone. He released me after 8 yrs. but it was my fault, I was so sad to leave him, now I can't find a new dr. Good Luck!
