Methadone Dr In Or Near Upper Michigan
(Newest replies first)

I live in upper Michigan (sault ste. Marie), I do NOT have insurance, i AM prescribed low level medication (Tramadol) for pain, however, am seriously interested in finding the closest doctor to upper Michigan (yet one that genuinely cares about his patients), that only prescribes or also prescribes methadone for addiction. As long as paying cash for a doctor visit, a script, etc... isn't an outrageous amount, I am willing to travel to wherever (the closer to northern mi., the better / easier). This is my first time ever inquiring about something like this, and have NO clue at all where to start. Name and / or phone number to doctors office, city etc... and ANY other info would help and be greatly appreciated. thank you.

In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results:

You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another:

Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients; some aren't, but most usually are. The receptionist should be able to tell you pretty much everything you are inquiring about, but you'll likely get more details when visiting in person.
Unfortunately, no one can know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion. Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach is to discuss up front and honestly what has and hasn't worked for you in the past. Most doctors will take it under consideration if they know it's worked for you without causing any problems or severe side effects.
I hope this information helps!
