Methadone Doctor (Top voted first)
UpdatedHi. I need to find help. I am addicted to pain pills and would really like to get off of them. I have tried methadone and it works, i just need help finding a doctor to prescribe it for me. I live in Michigan. If anyone knows could you please help me? I cant go to a clinic because i dont live near one. I live in the upper penninsula but would drive downstate to get a doctor.....
HEY post #15.... WOW!!!! My response to that ridiculous comment or casting of the stone is...... judge not. I'd really be interested in finding anyone in this world without someone making another feel like less of a person or at fault for being in need of pain management. I guess you know the person you were so quick to judge?? I'm sure the life you're living is without reproach... rhetorical; I'm sure you think not. I have one question... where's your weakness or regret in life? Could it be overeating, working while neglecting the ones that need you, drinking and calling it social, sexual addiction.... , perhaps it's physical or verbal abuse towards others; or is it just simply making others feel bad? ( I think that could be it, abusing others with your tude
Your post was truly offensive. It's good to know there's people that can just close there eye's at night and sleep without any thought about the pain they cause to others. I don't wish your gift friend'; sarcastic....????
YOU BETCHA!!!!
Hey mr Had Enuff i hope you get into a serious car accident and they put you on the highest pain meds available and i hope u get addicted and that you never get off of it. You are nothing but a scum bag who knows nothing about the disease of addiction.
I need a doctor who prescribes methadone or methadose in Brooklyn NY. ASAP
Ive been on methadone for 3 years.Im beginning to think it's starting to be a $maker for somebody. The meds are cheap to manufactor. But I spent over $5500 in one year going to licensed-by-the-state clinics.
Does it really have to be this expensive? I need this medication to function and work.
I hope someone hears my plea and does something to bring the costs of the drug down to where the American worker can afford it.
Where in N.Y. are you? I know of a pain management Dr. that perscribes methadone, but he's in Long Island, can you get there?
I AM ADDICTED TO PAIN KILLERS FOR YRS AND I BROKE MY COLLAR BONE RECENTLY HAVING TO TAKE MORE I NEED SOMETHING TO GET ME OFF ADDICTION AND CONTROL MY PAIN
You do not know, obviously, just how chronic pain affects a person. Your ignorance and lack of knowledge about just how severe and life threatening pain can be to a person makes you sound like a red neck no-mind. God help you if you ever have need for pain medications. I hope you suffer and do not get help. You are a bigot and you are the type of person that should not say anything until you know something about what you are talking about! What a horrible person. No wonder the world is in a mess...it is people like you who change it for the worse! Just shameful!
Ho Travis- Is your question in regards to #143 Joann53f? Looking for a doctor on Long Island that will Rx methadone for pain?
I need to find a doctor who can prescribe me methadone on a maintanance dosing situation. I live outside of Philadelphia. I need to continue providing for my 2 year old little girl and wife so I cant miss work, its just not an option. Im begging for this treatment. Please if there is any doctor willing to do so, it would literally be life saving.
I gratly appreciate any HELP.
I'm currently taking 80MG Oxycotin 3-4 times a day, roxicodone 30MG about 10-15 times a day, and I'm seriously going to die soon. The reason I get all these pain medications is because I was in a horrible automobile accident, and I'm lucky to be alive, but I live everyday in a great deal of pain. I've tried Subutex, and Suboxone, both of which failed because of the celing effect they have, I needed something a lot more powerfull for pain, but I seriously can't keep taking this much Oxycotin and Norco, roxi's, ect.. I was on Methadone 10MG tabs when I lived in Long Beach, but I now live in San Diego, and all I've been able to find down here are the clinic's, would someone please, please help me if they know of a Doctor in or near San Diego, that will presribe methadone, or somewhere I can get it, you would save my life. You can email me tables06 at yahoo dot com please I need something or I'm going to die very soon.
-Thank you.
Tommy
Right on Coco! Why are people so mean and hateful to others?! Chronic pain is so debilitating, and those that have never been through that situation really shouldn't speak on it!
Good evening Coco~
Hey NeedHelp, I use to live in MI too and I lived in Northern Michigan and had the same trouble as you. You have to to ask your self first, how bad do you want to get off the pain killers. Methadone is a great way to stop craving the other drugs you use and saves you a lot of money while keeping you off the street drugs. You are going to have to check your area in the U.P. because I dont know about that far up but it is very possible that there is a clinic. If there is not a clinic you are going to have to call and find one and then go in and sit down with the councler and explain your situatiuon and let them know how seriuos you are about doing this and they really are good with working with you. At first they will want you to come in every day for a month nut like I said , in your case they may start you at bi-weekly and just make sure to stay clean and pass your UA's. This is what worked for me, I drove from Antrim to Grand Rapids and let them know how serioous about changing my life I was and within 2 months I was on bi-weekly and it has been great. Also if you have insurance there is the option of going to the doctor and explaining that you are in a clinic and they are making you drive every day and it is too far and you might be suprised how the doc will work with you and the clinic. But first of all really check your area because their might be one somewhere by you. If you need anymore help with anything post again and I can tell you much more about the clinics and how they are run. I have a lot of experience in this matter. Good Luck Buddy
Why are you on this forum. You seem to like trolling people that actually want help. Calling people junkies that just want their next fix is really pathatic. Drug addiction is an illness that is hard to overcome and these people are looking for help which in my view makes them stronger than a loser looking to put people down.
You are a sick, twisted, evil person to even be able to come up with this ridiculous post. If you were educated at all on methadone you would know that when on a maintenence and strictly only taking mehadone, not any benzos or anything like that you don't get ANY euphoria whatsoever!! So before you post on a site that you have no clue about the material on it, do your yourself a favor and go do some research!!! One more thing for you to talk about addicts and put them in one group of individuals, know that their are some, for that matter a lot of addicts and alcoholics that fight everyday just to get another day clean, its not about getting the next free high or whatever you said! Last but not least, only God can judge and when your time comes for that judgement day I would love to be there and see your wrath! Just one more thing, God Bless you and I hope it don't take something tradgic in your life to make you realize you are wrong! What goes around comes around, Karma is one B**** I don't mess with, and from the looks of it you have yours coming, so good luck and peace out!
I have read plenty of threads on this site regarding Methadone. Myself, I am a recovering addict from Methadone and Klonopin. I play the tape over and over in my head trying to recover what I can from nearly 10 yrs. in addiction to various heavy narcotics. As I read some of the stories in the forum it has stirred up old memories and I feel only empathy for the writers that are in active addiction and really want help. Methadone is very powerful and controls every ounce of you when addicted physically and mentally. I would rather not go into detail about what it can and has done to you and I. I really haven't seen anyone holding back when expressing how they feel taking it. Whether your at the beginning or end of your journey with methadone, there is a way out. Let me start out by saying, it is all up to you and you alone. It is not your parents, friends, relatives, etc.. decision. It is yours. I do not regret one day in "sobriety" that I made the decision to change my life. The course of my day is up to me and me alone. If you are looking to get help for your addiction to methadone or any other narcotic, I may be able to provide some advice and options, just reply. Good luck in your own personal journey, wherever it takes you.
Whoa.. NUMBER 15.. NEVER SAY NEVER.. I pray you never know what it feels like to be in a car accident that was not your fault, have a metal cage holding your lumbar system together which was rebuilt with other ligaments and bones from your body and screwed together, while your jaw was ripped off, and you have no feeling in your face from metal plates. I pray you don't know what it is to have such severe nerve damage that your symptoms mimic MS and you practically have no control of your body all because of someone else who had a stroke behind the wheel crashed into me. The pain is something that there drugs does not even help no matter how much they give me and I am no longer a functioning person. What I do know, is no matter what, I need that medication because with my walker, I still have to get up and feed my family every day, take care of my bills, and I decided to go on Methadone because if you did your research on "drugs" you would find that after a short period there is no high at all and opiate blockers in there. It is to simply make me function. Obviously, I cant get the best job in the world in my condition so if I can find a doctor that will prescribe this for a cheaper price since it takes up a quarter of my monthly funds just to move each day, I would very much like the information. You don't know these people or there stories. Many build lives and become functioning members of society once on methadone. They work, have bills, school, and are tring to better themselves. They now want off or a cheaper way so they can continue to go further in life because after going from trying to get there "fix" each day, they don't live that life style any more. There bosses are not going to want to wait months for them to just come off the medication cold turkey, there landlords will want there money and they will lose every thing they worked hard for.. AGAIN. there is no HIGH from methadone after being on it for a month or so. IT has opiate blockers in it. Educate yourself before you tell people what to do. Not everyone is you. You don't know why they picked up drugs to begin with. Many young kids are targets by older people for there resources and what do you really know as a young teen. By the time you figure it out..Its to late.. It would be nice though if the world was all sun shine and rainbows and everyone was exactly the same..GOD HELP YOU FOR YOUR LACK OF EMPATHY, and Knowledge on the different things people go through or what can lead to addiction. IN the end..most people are self medicating for one reason or another but you never put your self in there shoes to find out. You can counter me by saying I don't know you and what you went through.. Well its irrelevant because you don't know anyone else or there situations either. OH and number 16, most clinics are filled with people abusing prescription medications now.. Not H.. They are now on there for pain management. Sorry to burst your bubble. Number 17 thank you for seeing something wrong with that and what the hell are you doing here anyway 15 if you were not looking for information of your own? Curiosity?
God help you, sounds like you're a ignorant uninformed, judgemental person. Someone in your family is affected by addiction. By the way, Christ came for broken people. You should write a book on human perfection. I'll pray for you.
I have been on methadone for 4 yrs now and want off! I'm on day 3, and took 20 mgs to ease the symptoms which makes me feel like a complete failure, but I'm also kicking myself hoping I didn't just completely start the entire detox process over. Any advice on how to get thru this is greatly appreciated!
Re: Had Enuff (# 15)
You obviously have no idea what these people go through. You should try walking a mile in their shoes before you cast judgement upon them. Shame on you, you hypocrite!
Nick B. Methadone does not require in-patient treatment. Call your nearest local methadone clinic. Or, You nac try a Buprenorphine appreved MD.
To locate one nearby... Try this locator.
