Hi. I need to find help. I am addicted to pain pills and would really like to get off of them. I have tried methadone and it works, i just need help finding a doctor to prescribe it for me. I live in Michigan. If anyone knows could you please help me? I cant go to a clinic because i dont live near one. I live in the upper penninsula but would drive downstate to get a doctor.....

I'm in ny how can u help? I been on suboxone it does not work and i do not have time to go to a clinic. I really need to get clean.

I have several severe medical issues that require pain management. My Dr prescribes me vicodin,fentanyl,and klonopin and I got on a methadone program for pain management at a clinic but I can't take going every day. I need a pain management doctor who will prescribe methadone on a monthly basis for my pain. I have all my records and mri's. I would appreciate any help.

you bum!! u dont know what u are talking about. Yes in some cases u r right but people in pain , well they really do need it. to say they are addicts cause then want pain relief and some times to just to be pain free and to be able to do something with your grand kids.U dont think right when u r in pain. if u havent been there then u should not put down person that need drugs to live. It might be against the law but that doesnt mean it is wrong. People make laws that make things illegal and then it is now wrong. Pain reief is not a crime cause some says so. A few Drs make up their minds and then makes it that way for everyone. u cant do that with pain .

I am a 63 year old woman in severe chronic pain from my back and fibromyalgia. Have been takin methadone and helps a lot. . But my Dr. Doesn't take my insurance Any more can someone tell me name of doctor in Cincinnati area

Can anyone please help me my mom has been on pain medication for over 20 yrs she got electrocuted at her job and has had hip replacement the list goes on and on she was 1st prescribed oxy 80mg with roxy 30mg and then but her on methadone and was on it for 16hrs then her doctor up and leaves and the new doctor doesn't want to prescribe her near what she took and she is in so much pain and us not herself anymore if anyone knows a doctor that will prescribe any of these please let me know. I live near tulsa but willing to drive her to oklahoma city she has glacoma and can't see hardly at all

Forget getting any methadone in Suffolk county new york. Now they are emailing prescriptions in and most doctors will not write out for pain anymore anything stronger than a tylenol 3 or a percocet. Nothing else. Also, in Suffolk county ny the new rule is you cannot receive more than 7 days worth of painkillers for the month. God forbid if it's a severe accident, you may be able to obtain something stronger. But all people on long Island now have to pay the price of not getting pain meds due to the epidemic of opiates on Long Island. What they don't realize is maybe they should put more effort into the street than the DEA minding the businesses of what Doctors are writing.

Subs are just as bad as methadone! And you ever decide to come off the sub's its just as painful as coming off methadone and does not help with pain anywhere near how methadone does. Just my opinion.. Been on both!

Can you still help someone with a methadone clinic? We just moved here from Chicago. My husband and I were both receiving prescriptions. Our doctor was sending them in to New York; good no problems until this month when I ask for my refill and the doctor said he's under restrictions from his employer and can't fill my prescriptions anymore. Now my husband on 8 pills a day for the last 3 years has no doctor. Is there anything you can do on Long Island as far as getting a prescription for Methadone? We only have 3 days worth of pills left. Please help us. My husband will lose his job. We are already running out of money to stay in hotels. Since we moved here waiting to find place we've been camping to save money but after November 1st we can no longer do that.

In this day and age I am still shocked to see so many people who are inconsiderate and not compassionate. It is not only one field that they feel this way about. They often judge everyone else as well. It saddens me to see this. Please take a good look at yourself.

Hello, My pain clinic just got closed. I live in Ashland Wi. Very north WI. I am on 60 mg of methadone a day. I have called so many doctors in my area and nobody will help me. The closest methadone clinic is 3 1/2 hours away. Plus I was told instantly, they do not help people for pain. I get that but I'm an addict that lives with chronic pain. Degenerative disc's, Bulging disc's, Sciatic nerve, had surgery for torn ACL & Meniscus on my knee. Never has been the same. Perhaps I am on too much methadone but I know I cant just get off them in a couple weeks. I'm desperate and feel so alone. I have never posted anything on the web before I just don't know what to do. Now I'm sick from withdrawl and in more pain. Please does anybody know a doctor in my area who may help me? Thank you.

You obviously know nothing about addiction. It is a disease of the mind. Nobody on this site wants to live a life where they constantly have to worry about being sick but coming off cold turkey is near impossible. Most people would love to be able to snap their fingers and live life clean and sober but it is not that easy to just say ok im going to stop using today and do it. Your mind is in constant conflict with itself and unfortunately the addict mind usually wins the fight.

You mentioned you were on too much methadone ....everyone is different. My functioning dose is 80mgs..... I live in Michigan.....I explained to my primary care physician I attended a methadone clinic for pain and that they treat addiction not pain.... He switched me to morphine....240mg daily ....finally achieved a quality of life until my primary left practice....now I'm without medication waiting for a pain clinic referral..... These doctors have no compassion!!! I notified my state representative.... I think that helps somewhat considering they are now worried about my specific medication and doctors are afraid to write for it.... I want the States to ensure no one gets left behind....that safeguards are implemented that prevent doctors from just dropping prescriptions leaving their patients to suffer..... I WAS HIT BY AN 18 WHELLER HIP REPLACED 3 TIMES,KNEE TOO ANYWAY THE PAIN PILLS ARE RUINING MY LIFE I WAS ON METHODONE AND DID VERY GOOD BUT THE DOCTOR RETIRED.THE NEW DOCTOR WILL NOT PRESCRIBE IT BUT GIVE ME STRONGER DRUGS AND THERE LIES THE PROBLEM!I LIVE IN FLORIDA ANY SUGGESTIONS

Any doctors in ri that will prescribe methadone was on 90 mg...then fetynal 75 had to get off that gained 70 pounds in a few months couldn't do anything I was a zombie.now on 60mg of oxycodone not enough relief..I'd like to go back to the methadone
