Methadone Clinics Or Medicaid Doctors (Page 2)
UpdatedMy son and daughter inlaw are on methadone and they both are on medicaid. Is there a Medicaid Dr in birmingham where they can receive a prescription for methadone without having to pay the high cost of the dose wheter it is from pain or from addiction???? Please help me I am on SS and try to help them but I can only do so much. They have tried Suboxone but it made them sick. I would rather see them on methadone than on pills or whatever addiction.
Where is the clinic that u go to? I've been on Methadone for 5 yrs and have 3 kids and Ive lost my job and can't pay my fee anymore but my clinic in New Orleans LA. Won't give me any advice... Please help

I'm recently on Medicaid so I'm wondering
Do you get your take homes on Medicaid,?
Get off the methadone, it's one of the hardest drugs to kick! If you're taking it for pain, there's a lot of pain meds that are great for pain and less addictive!! I used methadone for years for pain and decided I had enough with being a slave to it. I've never had any problems with drugs before my injury and being introduced to pain pills, I used Xanax and Ambian to keep calm and sleep while smoking a lot of pot for the pain and withdrawal symptoms. Now I've been clean from all pills for over 10 years. Stay away from the suboxone, it's just as addictive as methadone. The medical marijuana really helps for pain and withdrawals! Never mind the NA bs unless you feel you're a drug addict. Just because you're addicted to pain pills doesn't necessarily mean you're a drug addict. A lot of people just need help getting off the meds then they're ok. Again try medical marijuana, it really helped me get off the pills.
Methadone is the cheapest way to detox off opiates but i would not recomand it for anyone as long as there is suboxone and subutex to b had...much better choice and much safer

Where in Huntsville can a medicade person get suboxon?
Depending on your state, Methadone clinics are paid by private pay (pt pays), weekly fee about 80 $ to 100 $. Includes meds, counseling, lab tests and Dr. and Nurses. Another form of pay is a block grant sliding scale bringing in proof of income to adjust how much you pay and the grant for your county or state. Also Medicaid & Medicare are accepted most clinics.
