Methadone Blood Test

Will Methadone show up in a regular blood draw at the. Doctors office?

If you are referring to a just a regular test, where they doctor looks for signs of infection, checks your vitamin and electrolyte levels and etc. then no. They would have to specifically order the type of test that checks for controlled substances.

However, Methadone is a very dangerous medication, so you shouldn't be taking it, without your doctor's approval and supervision.

Thank you so much for your reply. It esd the exact test you mentioned. I've been on Methadone for 4 years now and my dose is only 19 mg but every other time I told a doctored I was on it they either dropped me SD a patient or treated me awful afterwards. I got hooked on oxys after a car wreck but that didn't seem to matter. I LOVE this Dr. And dont want to lose him as my Dr. I am comin down 5 mgs a week on the Methadone and have never relapsed. I think I'm going to take your approach and be honest with him cause I'm on blood thinners,ambien, nuerontin and some other meds he should know. Thank you do much for taking the time to answer me. And I will take your advice and be honest with him.

They have to be running a blood test for narcotics. Methadone will show up as an opiate unless they are actually testing for methadone

I took 50mg of methadone about a week and a half ago. I'm 6'2 and about 285 and I need to see about getting it out of my system. My Dr on his paperwork wrote, plus serum for methadone. What can I expect?

Re: Ambien for a replacement is scary unless you live with someone. I used to do things that I have no recollection of doing. My husband would wait until I returned to bed and then go clean up after me. The kitchen was upside down with oven doors open; oven on; pots and pans all over, etc. One day he left the evidence for me to see and I went OMG. Some people drive unknowing, and stories are always in the news. I just quit taking them.
