Methadone 5 Mg / Motrin 800 Mg / Heart Surgery

Is there a generic or alternative to methadone 5 mg?

What options do I have for motin 800 as I had heart surgery and am now on Lasix and warfin and can no longer take motrin? I need something for inflammation!

Methadone is the generic, but there are other opiate narcotics available. The FDA does warn that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

As to a replacement for the Motrin, you may be able to take a steroid, but only your doctor can decide what's safe for you.

How long ago did you have the surgery? What other medications are you taking?
