So I take Glucophage 500mg 1x per day, years ago they gave me Metformin which gave me stomach cramps & dirrahhea. yet my doctor & pharmacist said I am crazy and the symptoms are all in my head! I found out the fillers are NOT the same. I have a lot of allergies i.e.: food, dyes, hay fever, chemicals, etc...how can I find out the exact fillers that are put in Glucophage & Metformin?

Dear Gabriel,

Sorry to hear about your reaction to the medication. As far as finding out what binders and fillers are being used, we would need to know what the imprint is on your tablets and/or who the manufacturer is... If you happen to have this information handy, please be sure to post back so that I or others may better assist you.

From my own personal experience and understanding, different fillers can cause side effects depending on whether we're hypersensitive or allergic to certain ones. Hopefully, when it's all said and done your doctor/pharmacist will take their patients more seriously.

~Wishing you well!~
