Metanx - Side Effects Beware!!

I started taking Metanx in Feb '12 and had almost instant relieve of the foot pain that would keep me up at night. I continued to take it through September '12, when I suspected that the visual disturbances and almost "stroke like" experiences I was having might be related. These symptoms ceased immediately when I discontinued use. Prior to taking metanx my B12 blood level was within the normal range, at 457 (top of range 911). However, in September '12 after taking Metanx I tested at >2000!

FURTHERMORE - In July '12 I started testing NEGATIVE for my hydrocodone prescription in routine Pain Management drug screens. After much trouble (and almost getting kicked out of the clinic for suspected "drug dealing", I found a pathologist that suggested the B12 level could have MASKED my other pain meds. Further investigation is definitely required and I will be contacting the manufacturer of this "medical food", which probably should just be left to nature. There are many "food sourced" B12 supplements on the market that have no negative "stroke like" side effects, but that will still cause false negatives in drug screens (on both cup screens and laboratory confirmations)....to BE CAREFUL.

I started Metanx in Feb 13 and had my vitamin B12 >2000 last week. No physical symptoms but was concerned to see such high level of vitamin B12. Have stopped taking it but getting headaches (not sure whether they are linked).
