I was reading somewhere that the company that makes Metanx (Nestle Health Science) signed some sort of agreement with Merck and they have an exclusive form of L-methylfolate called methylfolin. From what I read, Metanx is the only formulation that has clinical trials. It seems like I could trust it. My only thing is that they say you have to take it for 90 days before you see any effects. Supposedly it prompts nerve regeneration which eliminates numbness in a lot of people. Question is do you want to pay for 90 days of this before getting any relief???

My podiatrist commented to me...'It's what you spend for McDonalds for a month'....
I told him I don't eat at McDonalds.

Yes. It has helped me for the past 5 yrs. I am now looking to see if I can buy something in the GNC store that could be equal to Metanx as it is expensive and not really covered on my rx plan.

I am 71 and have been diagnosed with pernicious anemia. My lifetime store of Vit B-12 has been used up and my intrinsic factor is very low to non-existent. I receive B-12 shots monthly and take a Metanx tablet daily. I have taken the tablet for over a year and have not noticed any side effects; of course at 71 I have some creaks and aches but I do not attribute them to any meds I am taking.
