Can this Metanx cause bad foot pain?

It really shouldn't, it is used to treat cases of such pain, caused by neuropathy.

Have you spoken to your doctor or pharmacist about this problem?

I got the med for foot neurophy, but since starting it the pain has become different and worse. guess i should check with him again'.

I started having more pain in my feet, too, after starting Metanx for neuropathy, and one foot is getting real bad. My doctor can't figure out what is causing the increased pain. I also wonder if Metanx could be causing it. I hope there will be an answer somewhere to this question.

i completed taking a script for 60 metanx for pain in my foot; i too had increased pain and my other foot stared bothering me; i could barely walk the first two weeks of taking metanx. also, i was concerned about the drug interactions, esp the warning about possibility of seizures in patients on anticonvulsants; i am a nurse and am concerned about the things i have read about this medication; i will just start taking otc folic acid supplements.

This is a situation to discuss with your doctor. however, I work with Metanx and wanted to mention that sometimes the pain will INCREASE as a positive repsonse to the medication. Unexpected, right? The idea is that your nerves may begin to reginerate and return to "life". In doing so, you may need to cycle through some increased sensitivity on your way back to a healthier bloodflow and healthier nerve status. More feeling isn't always a negative side effect--- it could be a step toward recovery. Please discuss this with your physician - they may have baselined your foot status and can determine if progress is being made. Best wishes on your recovery.
