Metal Taste With Metformin

Does the metal taste ever go away? I have been taking 1000mg 2x a day with meals since Feb. 3. Water taste terrible and most foods have a different taste. Have been drinking sugar-free lemonade to stay hydrated.

Unfortunately, most people have reported that it doesn't. Other typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, flatulence, stomach pain and hypoglycemia.

Have you tried mints or anything to help relieve the taste? There are many sugar free ones available. Flavored water may also help.
