hi my mother has been experiencing high BP frm the past two monthe(160/100),our doc has prescribed her MET XL 50mg.my doubt is is'nt the dosage too much for her

My mom has been prescribed. Met. XL 40 and she has been having constant head burning and fatiguesss. My message baord it seems this drug is still in infant stages and only 47000 patients are being used. Is this a trial drug? She used to be on stamlabeta and recently doc has changed her medicine for High.BP
