My father has kidney and bone cancer and
has not been eating very much. His doctor just have him Megestrol AC 20mg tab stating that is has synthetic thc in it that should help his appetite. He has no problem taking that. However nowhere have I seen thc mentioned anywhere. So my question is. Is that at all true? Is there synthetic thc in this medication?

No, there is no THC in this, synthetic or otherwise.
Megestrol Acetate is actually a form of the hormone progesterone and it is used to increase appetite. You may find yourself more familiar with it if you think of woman taking hormone replacement therapy or contraceptives and the fact that it usually causes them to gain some weight, because it increases appetite.
