Medtronic Pain Meds
UpdatedHi my story is on the same wave length as far as Pain Meds go. I was so disgusted when it was time to get my Meds that l would literally think about dealing with the pain and weening myself off of all my Meds. I went through all sorts of scenarios, but the best part was after getting my Meds from the same pharmacy after 4-5 times, they would still look at me like l just tore off their arm and stuck it in my mouth or l had 3 heads. Well what l decided to do WAS STOP taking all tangible drugs! (anything l could hold in my hand) l approached my rehab doc and discussed what my options were. What l changed over to was a Medtronic Pain pump. The process was very simple, went into the hospital, had it implanted into my right side, above my hip. The Meds that are in my pump are morphine and another one l believe it is diluadid (not sure). All of my Meds go through the spine and it's very minimal but the pump dispenses on a timely basis about 3-5 a day. If you feel more or less is needed your doctor will adjust the pump. It was the best decision l ever made. No more dealing with strange responses or looking like l had 3 heads. The other positive side to this is, there is a MINIMAL amount that goes through your bloodstream (hardly any at all) so this is another plus. It's not a decision for everyone but it's something to think about. Hope this can shed some light on getting away from all the red tape. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!
