Hi. I really hope you can help me. Me and my husband decided 3yrs ago to have a child. So far no luck. So all my life I have had irregular periods. I go to the obgyn and she pecribed me the hormone pill medroxyprogesterone to regulate my period. The dose on the bottle says to take a pill everyday. I missed a couple of days because I completely forgot. After I stopped the medication I started my period. My period has not stopped. I have had bad cramps and lots and lots of clots. Idk what to do. I am scared to take the meds again but do you think it is a great idea to start the med bk to stop the period. I can't stop the bleeding to start to have a child. Please help me.

Having heavy bleeding, with clots is normal, according to FDA reports, after taking this medication. It can also be worsened, when you miss pills.

As to whether or not you should take it, again, have you informed your doctor of the problems you're having?

Are you on any other medications? Was any other testing done to see why you have not become pregnant?

Generally, according to NIH guidelines, if you're not using protection and don't become pregnant within a year, it is considered to be a fertility issue. Thus, both you and your husband should be checked to see if one, or both of you, is the root of the problem.
