I went in with bad ear aches and was obviously told I have ear infections. I was given amoxicillin along with Neomycin and polymyxin b sulfates and hydrocortisone otic solution, usp. It was fine the first two days then the third day and today it burns my right ear very badly. I can't keep it in the 5 min. My left ear still feels no major pain when using. Is this normal??

Yes, the FDA does list that as being a possible side effect of this medication, you may also experiencing redness, drainage, and itching.

If it is that severe, you might need to consult your doctor about trying a different medication, or sticking with oral antibiotics, it might be that this isn't the right one for you.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
