Medical Doesnt Cover Anymore, Please Help

Trying to find a dr. in portland, oregon. ive had chronic pain for over 10 years and my medical wont cover anymore. The pain is unbearable now and I need several surgeries to not be in pain including 2 back surgeries. If someone could please help me find a good DR. that isnt under someones thumb that would really help. thank you

Hello, Trish! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you are dealing with, being in pain is horrible.

However, if your medical insurance will no longer cover it, that is not going to change, even if you see a different doctor. I mean a doctor can request authorization, but they can't force your insurance to cover anything. Additionally, all doctors are under the 'thumb' of the government, if they are thought to prescribe medications inappropriately, or to be over prescribing, they can lose their license to practice medicine.

The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

I've recently had to deal with the same thing, our insurance will no longer cover a medication I've been taking for years, so we have to pay for it, ourselves.

Will they cover the surgeries for you?
