Mazon
UpdatedI was born in 1942 and used Mazon from when I was 7 or so until I was in my late teens and the first cortisone ointment became available -- tiny amount for a high price and wonderful performance. When I was using Mazon I was using a huge amount, as I had horrible rash over much of my body for long periods, and sometimes secondary infections. Mazon did seem to reduce the itching and the rash. I've always wondered how much mercury was in it and it its accumulation had something to due with my mental instability then and subsequently. Mad as a hatter, at times, I think.
I have no desire to sue anybody or anything like that, but I certainty went overboard in using it when the eczema was bad. (On the other side of the coin, my inability to wear wool, esp. wool socks, kept me out of the Vietnam war!)
Anyway, can anyone let me know how much mercury was used in the earlier version of the product, in the 1950s? I'd love to see a copy of an old label!
