Have you used BrandDirectHealth.com which is owned by the manufacturer? It's less than $60/month.

There is no generic substitute available for Metanx.

However, if you check out the website at Metanx.com, they do have a helpful resources link and list a mail order pharmacy that offers cheaper prices, so you may want to look into it.
