My treatment for the pain i experience from this chronic disease is MS. Contin and Oxycodone. This treatment works very well for me and i trying many different meds and therapeutic treatments and i would not want to mess with it. Will Neurologist perscribe this type of medication for someone with will be on it indefinitely?

Hello, Michael! How are you?

It depends on the neurologist, though in most cases, you'll be sent to a pain management specialist to prescribe and monitor your medications.

The FDA classifies these as narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Are there any other questions or concerns?
