I don't know if it's exactly "light green" per say but it could appear that way. Their official tablet for Roxicodone (Oxycodone 30 mg) is listed as a light blue pill with 54 199 one one side and a score line on the other (NDC 23635-582). Is that what you have? There's an image on the manufacturer's product page:

Re: David (# 1)
I've been on the 30s for a long time years and years manufacturers have diluted them so bad the only one I ever found that was close to being pain-relieving was kvk some people say it was crap like melon cough and all the rest but for me they seem to be the best I don't think there's anything good out there anymore to relieve pain unless you can afford name brand even if you get your doctor to write name brand insurance companies won't cover it .
Re: Sam (# 11)
I filled a prescription for pain meds, Oxycodone 30 mg on 7/28/18. Well this sounds almost unbelievable. They are so weak on a scale of 1 to 10. That's how the doctor asked me to rate my pain. I would rate these at 0, like placebo. The Actavis meds they had been providing for months worked very well. So now what, I thought i needed to find out if anyone else is having this problem. I think yes but needed to see it. This thing as a whole makes you feel just useless! Don't want to complain, that does not get you anywhere! Anyway, tomorrow's another day. Oh by the way, these were Mallinckrodt. At one time they were one of the best!
Re: guit30 (# 4)
I too don't like to change manufacturers. Actavis is normally the best, most consistent and stronger. KVK are awful, they make me feel sick and don't work well. Mallinckrodt is good quality but seem weak and used to be one of the better ones. My doctor thinks that's bull but he is not taking them. I can't find Actavis even from the pharmacy that has had them for years. I called Actavis and they say they're available. I can't get a straight story from anyone, so what the hell. I think the pharmacy is messing with us!
You can’t compare Actavis because Actavis truly works. Mallinckroft is a placebo, they do nothing but put you thru withdrawal and offer no pain relief. They need to be taken off the market.
I had been getting good Mallincrodt 30 , but this month, they are very bad, they feel like half strength. I am going to have to try something else next month.
Costco had been ordering in 7.5/325 Oxycodone by Mallinckrodt for me. However I was informed a month ago they can no longer order it for me. This brand has worked the best for me off and on for the past 8-9 years. Now I've been scrambling to find someone that can order it in for me especially after getting the last 50 tablets of Mallinckrodt, Costco had (which work for me). Rounding out the 90 tablets I get each month, Costco gave me 40 tablets of the "new" Alvogen (which I found out did not work). Big difference (my opinion of course). Alvogen must be the higher profit pill?? Well back to scrambling........
Have you thought about costco pharmacy. They are the cheapest prices vs cvs and walmart. Sometimes you can talk to them in person and ask if they can order your specific meds. I did and saved hundreds. I like cvs and walmart but they can't touch COSTCO. GOOD LUCK.
I know that Walmart Pharmacy here in Central California have the Activas&Rhodes and some.CVS PHARMACIES stock the Mallinckrodt. The Mboxes usually can be ordered from an Independent owned Pharmacy too.I like having a good relationship with my Pharmacist. I have had to do trial and error to find Something Comparable to the Mallinckrodt, (because the cost of the Mboxes doubled so I had to due some research by trial and error and between the Activas, ocutest,Tvk , and some other oddball manufacturer.I have come to find that a Generic that almost works as well for my pain is Amneal. I am also in my 60's and without my pain medication I hurt terribly.
Can someone give me their opinion on a fentanyl pump? Currently I take 4 30mg oxycodone, 3 350mg soma and 4 10mg valium a day just for my pain. Now after treating me for years my pain Dr wants to put a fentanyl pump in me and i really don't want to do it. I have had so many procedures done on my back and neck it's crazy. Also every 3 months I get epidural inj's. I mean when is enough enough already? Anyone with some information on this kind of procedure?
I spoke to someone regarding this problem & learned that unknown pharmaceutical companies buy ingredients that are due to expire within a year from top pharmaceutical companies. Although this seems to be FDA approved, those of us that have chronic pain, can not depend on functioning like they are accustomed.
Hi in in Philly and my RX switched brands of my pain meds oxycodone.People even my Dr says in crazy that there all the same can someone please tel my where I can get activist or mallinkot? Thanks for our help.
Mallincroft to me is one that works, KVK makes me sick to stomach, and is weak. I like Actavis best, then Qualitest, then Mallincroft. I cannot get any of these now. All I can get is Rhodes and KVK. Rhodes is weak too, but it does not have the side effects that kvk does.
Yeah it is. I have been lucky, never got Malinkrap pills in 2.5 yrs oh taking oxycodoneIR. I took Op oxycontin 60mg most of that time, due to costs I recently had to switch to generic oxycodone....my insurance went from 330. a month to almost 500$ a month, so I took obamacare Medicaid (since im a full time student) i got covered for free. What a bad choice, Perdue's Oxycontin is a very good pain reliever, the generics not so, I did okay on the kvk tech brand, but IR has no residual effect, literally 1 hr of pain relief from 60mg of generic oxycodone....what s***, the absolute worse is the Mallinkrodt brand M30's, I would have to take 4 of the M30's to get any pain relief.....The pharms are putting out alot of s***ty pain meds, and i doubt it will get better.
David, in my experience, Actavis is not only bothering people due to length of time on med, metab, weight, etc. Too many people are having the same exact side effects for these things you listed to be a factor. Now, I can understand the same reactions with an allergy to the med but these are not allergic reactions. Can the reactions be coming from the binders and fillers? Of course. But, back about a year and a half ago people had the same complaints on the Actavis hydrocodone. That is 2 totally different narcotics by the same manufacturer creating the same side effects! Coincidence? Don't think so. They are using a totally different formula than Watson...low home they bought. I think they should just stick to the original Watson formula. I know people would be willing to pay a higher price for a med that works. I know I would as I got stung by both of these meds from Actavis. The price wasn't really that much different, though, but enough!
Just thought I would add my 2 cents regarding what I know.
Hi Jay,
How would you rank the mallinckrodt vs actavis on a scale on 1-10? I know a lot of patients who've been used to taking certain brands have also complained about actavis as well, but in my experience I'm finding the that primary differences people have are based on a variety of individual factors; such as tolerance, age, weight, metabolism, etc. Not only that but because both manufacturers use a different set of "inactive" ingredients (binders/fillers), this could also influence how much of the oxycodone is actually being metabolized and used by your body at any given time.
These are the fillers used in mallinckrodt's (M 30) oxycodone 30mg tablet:
microcrystalline cellulose + lactose monohydrate + stearic acid + FD&C Blue No. 2
These are the fillers used in actavis' (A 215) oxycodone 30mg tablet:
microcrystalline cellulose + lactose monohydrate + stearic acid + FD&C Blue No. 2 + FD&C Blue No. 2 Aluminium Lake + corn starch + silicon dioxide + glycolate
This is just my theory but perhaps the addition of one or more ingredients present in actavis' tablet is what makes it easier for your body to absorb. I don't know how to determine if that's the case for sure, but there are no other reported differences outside of these inactive substances.
Hopefully this will help shed some light on why one might be working better than the other.
