Macrobid For Tooth Infection
UpdatedI have wisdom teeth that cracked and I haven't got them pulled out. Now the ones in front of my wisdom teeth cracked and got holes and hurt really bad. Can I use this antibiotic?

Macrobid (Nitrofurantoin) is usually not the preferred antibiotic to treat dental infections. It is most commonly used to treat urinary tract infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and stomach pain.
It would be best to see a dentist, so they can prescribe the appropriate medications and correct the problems that have caused these issues. If you allow them to continue, things are just going to keep getting worse.
As someone that has had to get dentures due to severe dental issues throughout my life, I can tell you that while I do love them, they ARE NOT and NEVER WILL be the same as having your natural teeth. It can be quite embarrassing to be out to eat with friends, only to have them suddenly come loose, so I have to stop eating, or excuse myself to the bathroom to apply more adhesive. It is difficult to get a great fit and to find out how much adhesive works for you. They do have implants, now, but you also have to worry about stuff getting caught under them, cleaning under them, and etc. In many cases, you have to see your dentist periodically, so they can pop them out, clean underneath them, check the seals, and etc.
Most dentists will tell you not to eat anything with small seeds, if you have dentures, or implants. Things such as strawberries, blackberries, and the like can make you quite miserable.
So, there is no fool proof replacement for your real teeth. I can eat most things, without a problem, and the dentist that did my dentures said I have done way better than most people that get them..... but honestly, take care of your natural teeth, if you can.
How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
