Ms Contin Making Me Worse?!

I am a chronic pain patient of 13 years and untill about six months ago was taking Norco 10s 8-10 times daily with 3 Soma daily along with 2 Fioricet a day. Then my Doc switched me to 3 60mg of MS Contin a day. I feel even worse now then I did before all the pain meds! It's like this horrble mussle ache and weekness that naggs at me all day and night, no matter what I do I cant seem to get comfortable and my sister/roommate says I have become a lot more rude and cold towards her and other people. I agree with her because everyone has been irritating to me and I have completely lost my sex drive. My Doc is of no help because I find it hard to explain to him what I am feeling. I hope I did a good enough job of it now as I hope someone here can help me. Can the MS Contin be making me feel this way both mentally and physically? It kind of reminds me of opioid withdrawals but like I said it has been six months. I should be over that by now.

Question. You're on MsContin, but are you taking anything for break through pain?

Your physician has taken you off the Soma and Fiorocet (not quite understanding why this med was given for your chronic pain on top of everything else).

You were taking approx twice the amount in converting hydrocodone to morphine a day six months ago on top of the other medications which are dependent as well.

I would suspect you are still psychologically craving the effects (which was quite a mixture) even though you have passed the point of the effects of physical withdrawal symptoms.

The psychological effects of craving is very real, and I do not wish to down play what you're feeling.

You might speak with your physician about adding Neurontin as well as an antidepressant
