in prepping for a colonoscopy, i had to half the large bottle of miralax to mix with liquid. large bottle is 8.3, so i went to half that and realized the large bottle contains 12 oz, not 8.3 as labeled.....why???? they say that the 17oz lid has 14 servings (8.3) but i measured out the 14 servings in the lid, and there is still more than 8.3...so do i prep with 8.3 oz or the whole bottle (which everyone assumes is 8.3!!)

Hello, Jan! How are you?

If they told you to use the whole bottle, then that is what you should do, but please double check with your doctor to be sure.

I've not seen anyone else mention this, so it seems very odd.

The FDA classifies this as being a laxative and its typical side effects may possibly include stomach pain, bloating, diarrhea and dizziness.

Is there anything else I can help with?
