I found a little white pill with an M in a square around it & break mark on the other side with a 20. What is this?

I located the pill in description to be a 20 mg Methylin (Methylphenidate) tablet.
Methylphenidate is the most commonly prescribed psychostimulant and is indicated in the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and narcolepsy.
