I am back to taking Ultram 50mgX2 as it works without the nausea side effect of Requip. my insurance makes me pay $100 for the RX. Dear doctors, the sensation to get up is the same sensation I feel if I take an antihistamine more than one day. I am very sleepy but I am not allowed to fall asleep. Why does the body do this when I lay down to go to sleep, weight transfer, spine pressure on a nerve? Whats the deal? ## Hello, Matt! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're having such problems. I'm not a doctor, but I can provide you with some information. In most cases, no one knows what causes RLS, it just happens in up to 10% of the U.S. population...
Should lyrica start working straight away I have been on it for 3 days and still in a huge amount of pain. The pain is in my shoulder and down my left arm. ## Hello, Nett! How are you? No, Lyrica is not actually an analgesic, so it doesn't work that fast. It is classified by the FDA as an anticonvulsant, which can also help with certain types of nerve pain. Thus, it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in the body and for you to know if it's going to work for you. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
After being prescribed Lyrica for back pain 4 months in I started cutting myself. At one time I had over 90 staples. I used a boxcuter. I didn't know who I was and spent time on a psych ward three times. I finally convinced my dr to take me off it and within 3 months I was myself again but my life was in shambles. Bills unpaid and loss of respect from family and friends. Lyrica should compensate me. The period on Lyrica was May 2013 to December 2013
UpdatedMy fiance was in a car accident on December 3, 2013. Following the accident, he had extreme back pain, but nothing showed up on an X-Ray. For some reason, that we couldn't really understand, his doctor prescribed him Lyrica (100mg, 3x/day). He has never been on any medication like this -he is 26 years old. Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. He was on Lyrica for about a month, before he started developing serious stomach pain. The center of his abdomen would hurt so bad that he would be doubled over in excruciating pain. This was joined with extreme nausea and lightheadedness, along with cold chills. His doctor ordered a CT Scan to look at his gallbladder, and it was normal. Last Wednesday we were in the ER with this pain, and they ordered an X-Ray, as well as a...
For those of you that have been on Lyrica for some time, have you seen your glucose level elevated? ## Hello, Tina! How are you? This actually happens frequently with anticonvulsant medications and most doctors will check someone's levels regularly to monitor them. Some people develop diabetes and some people just experience an elevation while they are taking it, which goes away, when they switch to a different medication. Our doctor just insisted on checking my fiances levels, when he was in for his last appointment. Other possible side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, weight changes and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you! My primary physician was quite concerned that my glucose had shot up when it had...
Is it ok to take lyrica 6hrs after taking 10 mg of methadone. ## Hi, Tony! How are you? Contrary to what many people think, Lyrica is not a narcotic or analgesic of any type. It actually contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant that can help with some types of nerve pain, due to its action on brain chemicals. Learn more Lyrica details here. And I didn't find any interactions listed between the two, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Unless I'm mistaken Lyrica IS a schedule 4 drug. So while it's not an opiate it can definitely make you goofy, especially at high doses, especially if you are just starting it. ## Yes at first the doses are very strong. I have taken Meth...
Hi! I have severe diabetic neuropathy, several amputations on both feet, and an ulcer on my one remaining big toe. I have been thinking of moving in with friends in Rhode Island. I am disabled, so I have Medicaid. Looking for a pain management doctor that takes Medicaid or one that is reasonably priced. But mainly I need one who uses pain meds. Shots don't work for osteo neuropathy (or not on me), and Lyrica only helps with the tingles/numbness. HELP! I'm on 2 60mg MS-Contin's two times a day plus 1 10mg oxycodone for breakthrough as well as Lyrica. ## Hello, Oneminuszero! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in so much pain. It might actually be easiest to find someone by setting yourself up with a new PCP, after you move, and then having them refer you to someone. Th...
What does the actual pill look like ? I have a .o5 mg and it is small white with a cross Is this correct? I am told in Mexico and I see online this is vitamin b complex ## Hi lex, I actually ran a search via google images on "tiamina piridoxina cianocobalamina", and of the results I'm finding, the pills themselves are depicted as being red in color. However this does not necessarily mean yours are fake by any means. It could very well be that they are simply manufactured by a different company. The one's I see online are being distributed through a company by the name of dipromed. And upon looking at the product packaging, it has the words "Tribedoce Compuesto" in large letters on the front, with a libra (scale) symbol in the bottom right or left hand corner of t...
I would like to know if there are any sulfa product in this medication? I am diabetic and have nerve damage in feet and Neurontin does not work for me. ## I am also allergic to sulfa products and was just placed on Lyrica for fibromyalagia. Since my doctor knows about my allergy, I assume there is no sulfa in this product. ## There is a sulfate in the name brand of this, sodium lauryl sulfate, not sure if that counts for your allergy or what, as I am not familiar with it. Here is a page that lists all the ingredients for the name brand: Lyrica Ingredients Since the inactives can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, you would need to check the ingredients for any of these that you are prescribed. By FDA regulations, the active ingredient, in this case Pregabalin, can differ from the n...
Hi is lyrica save to take with Adderall XR? Also I was wondering if lyrica would cause a person who is diagnosed with PCOS, more weight GAIN Then a person who is not? Also is lyrica save to take with Celexa? And should people who has ADHD... Be on Lyrica? ## Hello, Islandgal7! How are you? No, the fact that the person has PCOS will not have any bearing on how much weight gain it causes, it will really be about the same for most people. Taking Adderall XR with Citalopram can increase the effect of the Cialopram, as well as increasing serotonin levels. This can cause a dangerous interaction called Serotonin Syndrome, which can be fatal, so they really shouldn't be combined. Adderall XR is a stimulant that's most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. It carries the risk of be...
I have been on Lyrica for many years due to fibromyalgia. I was off of them for a while however I began to have trigeminal neuralgia so I was put back on it. I have had tinnitus every since I've been back on it. I have had to have shots in my head occipital neuralgia Is this yet another side effect from it? I can't remember things from one minute to the next. I have gotten in my car and forgot where I was going. I have a real problem concentrating. I have gone to the store and forgot what I went for. My face does stay swollen most of the time but my sinuses stays swollen and now I have asthma is Lyrica causes these problems. I did not have these problems before taking Lyrica. I used to take (Sertraline) when i was in Miami, but now when i came home they dont have it here,, i found Lyrica and it was told that its the same ? i just need to know if it works like it or not ?? ## No, they don't work the same and are not interchangeable. Zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant. Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. They work in different ways and do not treat the same conditions. You can read more on both at the following links: If you were using the Zoloft to help with pain, then the Lyrica could be a viable alternative to try. In addition, if you were using it for a mood disorder, it may also help, because anticonvulsants are known to do that, too. However, they are not the same and don't work the same. Are there an...
I have just got prescribed to lyrica from my doctor for going through withdrawals off of xanax. Is this a good idea? ## Hello, T man! How are you? Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. It would seen your doctor prescribed it to try to help alleviate some of the typical issues that can occur, when stopping a benzodiazepine, including the possible risk of seizures that doing so can cause. Mood swings and anxiety are also possibilities. Is it helping?
Have neuropathy in feet. Take 2400 mgs a gabapentin daily. Would lyrica help> ## Hello, David! How are you? It may help you more than the Gabapentin does, but there's no way to say for sure, you'd have to try it and see. It is a very similar medication, Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is also an anticonvulsant that's been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Side effects typically include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, weight changes and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with?
can Lyrica and subutex be used at the same time ## @kb39, From what I've seen posted on various drug interaction checkers, apparently using Subutex (buprenorphine) with Lyrica (pregabalin) can increase your risk of central nervous system depression; potentially leading to serious side effects that could be fatal. With that said, you may need to discuss this in more detail with your doctor as well, to ensure that frequent monitoring is done during your time on these medications. This way they can better determine whether or not you require an adjustment in your dosage in order to safely continue using both medications at the same time. I hope this helps!
I ask because yesterday I went on a sail boat and to not get sea sick I took a meclinzine and another three hours later at about five pm my feet and half way up my lower legs were so swollen it was like pitted edema when I pushed it, it stayed indented and it started this swollen until about 1am. And I was just concerned if it was this is if it's the lyrica since it could swell my feet a little but nothing ever close to as bad as yesterday. Please let me know if you know anything. thank you. ## Hello, Sabbs! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened. You should have this checked out by your doctor, such severe edema can be dangerous, because it may lead to congestive heart failure. However, as to the medications, no I didn't find any problems listed between taking them...

I've been on Lyrica 1year 300 daily then in June 2014 doctor increased it to 600 daily. I've gained weight over the summer and have feet and ankle swelling since the increase. Also was put on Molloxcam in April 2014. Low dose. I Want to know which of these could be my problem. ## Hello, Marie! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. The weight gain is most likely due to the Lyrica, it can be a side effect of it, along with nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and mood swings. The edema is most likely a size effect of the Meloxicam, most nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories can cause it, along with headache and stomach irritation. This is something you should have checked out, to be sure that there isn't something more serious going on, such as congest...

This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?
