Lyrica Weight Gain

Does anyone know if you gain more weight as you increase the milligrams of Lyrica. I've gone from 150mg a day to 600 & still may have to increase, I know weight gain is a side effect but does it ever level out or as I increase my milligram will I continue to gain? I've already gained 50lbs!

Yes it can! I tried it & I believe I was allergic to it. I started swelling up immediately & even though I only took for a brief time, the extra weight I gained was super hard to get off. I've heard it helps some tho! Hope this was a little helpful =)

Several of the side effects from anticonvulsants are known to continue or worsen with time and weight gain is one of them. Mood swings and memory problems can also worsen.

However, it really depends on the person, some people don't have as much of a problem as others.

Are you on any other medications?

Yes it will and quickly and you will battle to get it off.

Each 150 mg Lyrica has 67 calories. So you are in taking 268 extra calories A day. It's no wonder people gain weight on it. I have been on it for 9 years. I have been using the MyFitnessPal App for 7 days in the first 6 I lost 6 pounds following it. Just make sure to add in Lyrica as a food item.
