Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 21) (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you
I would like to know also. I was on Lyrica and develop for three years. Good luck.
Hi all, I was prescribed lyrica by my doctor in June 2016 for lower back pain, chronic rotator cuff disease and degenerative disc disease. The first 2 weeks i was taking 25mg twice daily, there after it was doubled 50mg twice daily. Initially i found it to work quite well for about two months. I would sweat heavily through the night, be dehydrated day and night, also confused, bad mood swings, my co-ordination was badly affected, behavior changed, started saying and doing things that were totally out of character for me to do. These are just some of the side effects I encountered, the list goes on and on. When i realized how bad things were getting i decided to halve the dose for the first month, then stop them all together. 1 week later i am still struggling with bad withdrawal symptoms. After explaining to my gp all the bad side effects and they were of no benefit to me he still wants me to keep taking them. My reply was i wouldn't as a result of the problems they have caused me and also my poor long suffering wife, he did not seem to care. My advice to anyone else taking this medication, please discontinue use asap. I never asked for this medication and now i have stopped will never take them again. The only reason i see this gp is because there are limited doctors in the small town where i live and no other doctors will take on new patients. p.s. i really struggled to write this comment as the lyrica has affected me so badly.
Since looking back to 1999 when I started Lyrica, most all my teeth have been fixed pulled out, and last month fell out? Does this stop with the disc. Of this TOXIC Pfizer product? lyrica... They Pfizer call Lyrica Neurontin's big brother....look up 7-2016 new patient safety information !!! please ....
I also have had dentists scratch their heads? They have not seen so many problems so quickly. This is what is going on with a lot of Lyrica users!!! Let's see Lyrica or teeth, I wish I read this 10+ years ago when this teeth problem started.
They need to find the cause of fibro myalgia, not just treat the effects. I find a lot of doctors prescribing medicine just based on symptoms. I think it is all to save them money, not save the patient anymore.
I am from Melbourne, Vic. My daughter suicided 2 months ago and I think lyrica was part of the issue.
Re: Regulator (# 1452)
See my post at 1447. It gives info on a potential lawyer who may start a lawsuit. But only in the USA right now
Good luck.
I wish there was one. I looked and called around because lyrical totally ruined my life. I never had seizures until about 2 weeks of being on Lyrica. I've been arrested in Oklahoma because they thought I was drunk and then on my way home I had a blackout seizure and almost totaled my car. I've been hospitalized due to lyrical a couple of times and my health has gone from a little pain in my lower back to having major back surgery. I know this is from taking Lyrica because I was healthy as a horse before. But I've had so many seizures after taking the drug that I now suffer from the hard the seizures have done to me. Keep me informed of finding a lawsuit please. This drug needs to be taking off the shelves and banned forever.
I took lyrica and cymbalta. All I can say is I got severely depressed. Nov. 2016 I woke up in a mental ward, I tried to commit suicide after overdosing on xanax. I was serious about ending my life as these medications drove me crazy.
Thank you for your share. I’ve been taking Erica for over two years. I tried stopping but the withdrawals were too painful. I finally stop taking them when I realize my vision is blurry. I stopped taking the drug two months ago and I’m still going through stomach with drawls. There has to be a class-action lawsuit down the road. Everyone who is taking his drug stay strong. Try your best to get off of the drug. You have to gradually take yourself off of it. Remember there are strength in numbers.
my doctor has lowered my dose down, some days its necessary yo take 600 and sometimrs 300mg, It just depends on how much pain I can taake versus my injury. We have tried Neurotin amd theey has btought me no relieff ay all. So I am kinda stuck at this point but here your words of encouragemeent and say Thank you, Knowing aat age 50 that I am kinnda stuck between aa rock and a hard place plrese keep me posted if anything comrs about vicky sullivano
Connie - did you find a Michigan attorney for use of Lyrica - my life is a nightmare since last Spring - can't live without it because of nerve damage pain but can't live it and get the pain back. Has anyone else hired an attorney even outside Michigan? Anyone....please help me
Sadly lawsuits against drug companies do not happen in Australia but I was still pleased to get the link to these postings as now I know my eyesight issues are far more likely to be the Lyrica than the Fibro and/or ageing issues and natural degeneration. It certainly helped me with my Fibro spasms but the 24/7 pain patch and Panadeine Forte and Endone will have to do from now on - Im OFF the Lyrica and hoping that the Fibro Fog hasnt been made irreversibly worse due to the Lyrica as damaged / altered grey matter is also a Fibro thing anyway.
has anyone tired lidocaine patches? I have had a lot of sucess with these for pain. I like them because the medicine goes directly where I need it and not thru my body. see the link... talk to your doctor. http://www.lidocainepatch.com
sorry here is the story. http://www.yourlawyer.com/articles/read/17591
forgot to attach the web site. sent in the post but it is delayed when a web link is attached to the reply. sorry
google this name and see what you find...
Dr. Scott S. Reuben
Did anyone else google this Dr. Reuben? If not you should. It seems to me that this info should definately be good cause for an attorney to take our cases, I wonder if there is a way an attorney can sue him rather than the drug company? Anyone else have any more insight on this please comment.
I agree with Connie.
but i also think Pfizer the maker of lyrica is also accountable. Did you see that the good doctor was on Pfizer's payroll?
Read this quote from a story on the doctor. Seems that if it is too good to be true then it is, or at least someone should have questioned his outstanding drug study results...
Interestingly, when you look at Scott’s output over the last 15 years, he never had a negative study,” said one colleague, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “In fact, they were all very robust results—where others had failed to show much difference. I just don’t understand why anyone would do this or how anyone could pull this off for so long.”
More questions raised...
What’s particularly surprising given the dimensions of the case, Ms. Johnston said, is that Dr. Reuben’s research managed to raise no alarms among peer reviewers.
Also the hospital where this all came to light is no longer using Lyrica on their surgery patients...
In light of the situation and economic concerns, UPMC has stopped giving celecoxib and pregabalin (lyrica) to surgery patients “until we have some very formal evidence that we should do something else,” Dr. Chelly said. “In this day and age, doing multimodal [therapy] is expensive. Any institution is going to look at evidence-based clinical decisions, and unless we have very strong data, it is a problem.”
One of the pillars of support for combining celecoxib and pregabalin (lyrica) was a 2006 study in Anesthesia and Analgesia—for which Dr. Reuben has been a reviewer—by Dr. Reuben and colleagues that found the approach effective in patients undergoing spinal surgery. That paper has been withdrawn. “If we take out [those] data in spinal,” Dr. Chelly said, “you really don’t have any evidence that the combination is working.”
I will keep looking and post what i find. If anyone else has information please share.
I did google dr scptt s reuben and now im really scared and upset if what im reading is that we were misled when it came to the drug Lyrica!
