Lyrica Giving Me Sulphur Based Burps

Hello Lyrica has always worked well. at one time in my life @ 3 years ago I was takinf it with no opiates. I was having killer leg pain after 10 days post facet injectins in my lumbar spine. So I went to not being on it for 2 years and now im taking it Long acting morphine. The combination of the lyrica & ms contin (long acting morph.) took my pain away. the lyrica has me somewhat jumpy, like I hafta move it gave me an energy boost and with my conditions, I have chronic fatigue so i'm having great results beside the sulphur burps that smell and taste terrible has anyone experienced this? The brand of 75 mg is phizer but 2 -3 years ago there was only one brand Idk the name but I remember the Lyrica had lilly on the pill I didn't have this problem. Ive taken sulphur based medication for an acute tear or ulcer, sacrafate is what it was called and I had the gas but not the burps, I was on sulphur based antibiotics and I did have the nasty burps with them too. I'm watching my diet closely to try and see if it's something I ate, But I doubt it im eating and taking my normal meds,if this continues I may have PM doc write for name brand only.Thank you if anybody has has sulphur based gas that is awful smelling or burps that are worse..kinda gross but if anyone has experienced this please do tell. I'm going to also look through the pamphlet for any side effct info...

The detailed side effect information doesn't list them as smelling like sulfur, but it does say that it can cause flatulence. If it bothers you that much, then yes, you should speak to your doctor about getting only the name brand.

I do understand how it would be annoying and you'd be concerned that it will also bother others.

I just started lyrica 2 weeks ago, it's causing me to have the same problem, atleast I hope that's what's causing it.
Going to try eating a lot of live culture yogurt and see if that helps.

I started lyrica a few weeks ago and now have the worst sulfur/egg burps. It's horrible, they smell so bad and keep me up all night.

I've been taking Lyrics 225mg now for 3 years. The first 2 years thud only side effect was increased appetite and the energy boost. Although over the last year its seeming to get worse. The eggy burps we will clear the room. I'm concerned because lyrica really does help my nerve pain but the eggy burps and not to mention farts are horrific for myself and anyone within a 10 ft sq radius.

I reread your post. Lyrica is only made by Pfizer. Every 3 months I call them to get the tracking number from fed ex so I don't miss the shipment to my house. I'm on a prescription plan through Pfizer because I don't have insurance. And of course my Doctor has to send them a prescription. The patent hasn't ran out on Lyrica so that means no generics are being made yet and no other company can make or profit off of it. Lyrica's predecessor Nuerontin (generic is Gabapentin) is similar and it was marketed for nerve pain. It's not as strong or effective as Lyrica. That may be where you seen "Lilly" on. Not trying to be an ass just wanted you to know what's up.
