Lyrica Class Action Lawsuit (Page 2)

If you have had an adverse reaction to Lyrica, please contact a law firm. I just called mine and gave them my basic information, and they will be having a lawyer contact us. This drug is dangerous, deadly, and should be pulled from the market. Amomg all the usual issues, today i noticed a new one had been added. For males, sperm motility can be affected and children created by parents using Lyrica, there is the possibility of birth defects. Please call and at least get on record with this firm. The more of us who call and tell our stories, the more likely it is that the drug company is going to have to cover our medical expenses, pain and suffering, etc.

I had two epidurals for very bad sciatica which did not help. My Dr. put me on Lyrica for the nerve pain before and after my L5-S1 back surgery. I had to quit Lyrica cold turkey because after a week of my hands swelling, I developed a rash, feet swelling, and my throat and tongue started to swell. This is all started after being on Lyrica for 2 1/2 months, and I developed this allergic reaction.
The first week after stopping consisted of severe night sweats, shakes, nightmares, memory loss and nausea. Week two the sweats, nightmares and the shakes stopped, but now I have symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (which I never had before starting this horrible drug) and severe nausea. Which I guess the nausea can be a good thing to help lose the weight I gained while on Lyrica, lol.
I am afraid to go back to the doctor to help with the RA symptoms that have appeared, not to mention some of the pain from the sciatica has returned. Right now I can't lift my right arm and I can't bend my thumb on my left hand. Yesterday all my fingers on my right hand were so sore, swollen and red that I couldn't even hold a single piece of paper without wincing in major pain. Today the right hand is completely fine.
It has been 3 weeks since quitting Lyrica, but I never know from one day to the next how much pain I will now be in. I have tried to do research about the side effects of quitting cold turkey and am not having much luck. All the sites just say to not quit cold turkey.
I never knew the effects of quitting Lyrica, but if I had, I would have never started. I can only compare this to coming off of a hard narcotic.
Does anyone know if there is a new class-action lawsuit happening? They do not tell you about the affects of stopping or coming off of Lyrica. I am trying to pass the word on to anyone who will listen to never start taking this drug.

Unfortunately we have not been able to find an open lawsuit for us to jump into. None of us know a lawyer that will start one. It's a big pharmaceutical company that makes Lyrica, Pfizer. I think that lawyers are either scared of them or know it is going to be extremely hard to sue. I'm surprised about all the problems you have had going off. It really sounds like an allergic reaction more so than side effects. A lot of us just stopped "cold turkey" and symptoms started going away. Have you told your doctor about all these symptoms? Please discuss this further with your doctor.

Hi id say probably not as he only does australia look 4 a no win no pay type lawer one that's there 2 help the people surly there is someone over there like shine lawers sorry i can't be more help

Hi because im so sick im setting up 2 do most stuff on line 4 hime paper work ect due to Christmas it's taking a little longer i just got a scanner copier printer i just have 2 get well enough 2 set it up so he can access my medical records ect will keep u posted thanks

Hi Shian, I've had the same side effect as you. I successfully committed suicide and was dead for 15 minutes..... I can remember getting up and going to work one morning and woke 4 days later in hospital scared and wondering what the hell was going on!!!!!.....

Hi Brit Glad your still with us. I honestly don't think I would have tried it under normal circumstance. And my damn doctor should have know Lyrica causes suicidal ideation and taken me off right then but she didn't. Now that the holidays are over I'm going to contact a law firm and see if a lawsuit is even possible or personal injury or maybe at least point us in the right direction. After all first consult is always free. Hang in there everybody!

I have no memory of the whole ordeal what so ever.... as a result I have lost ALL contact with my 2 children who are yelling out to see me... but here in Australia there isn't any lawyers that have the guts to stand up to the drug company or the prescribing doctor...... I really need help but there's no one out there willing to help :(

Brit. Look down on this thread at comment number 18. Kez found a lawyer in Australia. He has an email listed for the lawyer. If you do speak to this lawyer and if he is going to follow thru see if he has any recommendations for us in the United States. Good luck!!!

Thanks for sharing this kez...... my whole world has been turned upside down most of all my ex wife has stopped ALL communication with my 2 beautiful boys due to the drug I overdosed and was dead for 15 minutes and she says "you blame this all on a pill" and the courts here in Australia are all for the mums.

Can anyone still on Lyrica tell for 1 is there a leaflet inside the box and 2nd if there is does it mention suicidal intensions or thoights?

I live in the US. Mine didn't come in a box as it was filled by the pharmacy and came in a pill bottle.

Go online and look up side effects. It does mention suicidal ideation, print it and show her. If that doesn't work go to your divorce lawyer and tell the ex wife is keeping the kids from you. Especially if there was visitation rights signed off by the judge. This is just hurting the kids by putting them in the middle. I don't know how long it was until I was found and CPR started. Not long or I either would have had brain damage do to lack of oxygen or CPR wouldn't have worked. I woke up in ICU sometime the next day and was immediately send to a mental hospital before I was even completely awake or a where I had broken ribs from CPR. It took two days before the mental hospital (total joke that place was) to believe me and take xrays. My doctor just increased the Lyrica. I was on 500mg three times a day for another 3 years before I choose to go off. Before that I was on a lower does for 3 years. I lost 6 years of my life including my job when I committed to this drug. Maybe we should be suing doctors for medical malpractice and personal injury. I think I'm going to look into that too. Thanks Shian I have done all of what you said but it always falls on deaf ears here in Oz. .... I've just sent an email to a lawyer this weekend to try get my kids back and to sue the pants off the doctor.... fingers crossed... I was cleared of any wrong doing by a team of mental health people that came to my house as soon as I told them the drug they said oh OK you've had the worst reaction well known to the drug.... and I was immediately taken off the drug.
I hope all goes well for you... can anyone out there let us all know if there is a class action against this drug so we can ALL join no matter which country you are from.

Wow brett u would think your wife would have noticed a change in u at that time? Good luck mate. I really hope u can sort this out. It seems lyrica has wreaked a lot of lives and these big companies don't give a s***. grrrr.
