Lyrica Reduces Effects Of Rls But Not Completely

I have been taking higher and higher doses of Lyrica, now up to 450mg, but I still wake up with that urge to get out of bed. I am back to taking Ultram 50mgX2 as it works without the nausea side effect of Requip. my insurance makes me pay $100 for the RX. Dear doctors, the sensation to get up is the same sensation I feel if I take an antihistamine more than one day. I am very sleepy but I am not allowed to fall asleep. Why does the body do this when I lay down to go to sleep, weight transfer, spine pressure on a nerve? Whats the deal?

I'm not a doctor, but I can provide you with some information.

In most cases, no one knows what causes RLS, it just happens in up to 10% of the U.S. population. In some cases, it is brought on by chronic disease, medications or pregnancy, but in most cases, there is no explanation for it.

It's also been known to occur with alcohol use and sleep deprivation, or either one can set it off or make it worse, which makes the alleviation of symptoms in such cases fairly straight forward.

Have you tired any medications to assist you with falling asleep? Such as Ambien?

The FDA classifies Ambien as a sedative hypnotic that's used for the short-term treatment of insomnia and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, sleep actions and next day hangover-like effects.
