Lyrica Memory Loss And Other Issues

Hi all. I've been taking 300mg of lyrica for 7 mo. which has been a miracle for my spine nerve damage however I have become completely stupid (no memory) and have developed neurovascular eye disease. Anyone else have this? Sorry for the post not being very clear lol as I said I'm brain dead!
I almost forgot to mention the rash. I've developed a rash on my right calf only. I've been to a lot of drs an all my blood work has been normal. I KNOW it's the Lyrica. I can't stop though. When I stopped taking it I was literally bedridden. The Lyrica helps so much with the pain that I've decided the side effects are worth it, at least I can function, even if I do go around in circles most of the time. Other drug companies are coming out with similar drugs soon hopefully with fewer side effects. Let's Hope!

I’m right there with you. I take Lyrica for DDD and Monjouro also. I guess that makes me “Two Times Stupid.”
I truly hope you can at least cut your Lyrica dosage down.

Hi Rayne -
I was prescribed Lyrica for pain after a stroke a couple of months ago. When my pain subsided, I was weaned off the Lyrica, and lo and behold, what I had chalked up to brain damage was actually the Lyrica! I was totally unable to pay attention to a conversation while making a sandwich, for instance, while on the Lyrica -- and had trouble following the thread of conversations -- and lots of other things that all added up to, as you said, brain dead. I was confused a lot.
On the manufacturer's web site, the detailed prescriber's info says that between 4-10% of the people who took the drug in their trials had this side effect, which they described as thinking abnormal (primarily difficulty with concentration/attention.) So you are not alone!
But one other thing I noticed as I was reading along -- it said that if your Lyrica gives you a rash then you should really stop taking it. Maybe you could ask your Dr. if there is something else you could try? Neurontin, maybe?
Hope this is helpful!
