My lungs have been conjested for six days now. A fever, can't sleep, can't breathe properly, and I have no appetite, lost ten lbs. My Dr. put me on AMOX-CLAV 875mg. Huge white horse pill, twice a day with food. Fever is down, appetite, ? a little better, but I don't have any energy at all. No side affects, lungs are still full of clear mucus. I will continue this medication for the ten days as prescribed.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. It sounds like you're tolerating the medication pretty well if you're not experiencing many side effects. If you want to help speed up the process I'd also suggest staying away from dairy products in general, since they are all mucous forming by nature.

In most cases, Amoxicillin usually gets the job done within the prescribed 10-day time frame for upper respiratory infections, so I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.

Have you been staying hydrated throughout the day? Day-time fatigue is often linked to dehydration. If you're drinking enough water (preferably lemon water for alkalinity) it should help your body heal even faster and increase energy.
