Low Platelets From Levothyroxine

I'm taking levothyroxine 75 mcg since about 10 years and now my platelets counts are lower than normal since about 3 years. I just read that this medication can be the cause. I never had symptoms of thyroid problems, the doctors prescribe the medication after having my check up blood test. Beside that I am very healthy, eat well, not overweight and exercise regulary. Do you think there is a way to get out of this medicine and go with something natural. I hate taking pills!

If you don't have a thyroid problem, why are you taking it? I'm afraid that I'm confused on this. It is never a good idea to take a medication that you don't really need.

But no, I've not found such a thing listed among the detailed side effects for this medication. They usually include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and hair loss.
