Lots Of Difficulty Getting Rx For Generic Adderal Filled!!
UpdatedI was diagnosed with FMS, Chronic Fatigue in 2004. Positively, could not wake up for more than 1 hour/day! Sleep study negative for Sleep Apnea . Diagnosed 6 mos. later with Narcolepsy . Psych put e on Adderal---first, the 'SA'...long-acting cap, but the 30mg.pill works better. Started at 5/day...gradually increased to 6 to 8 a day. This works well for me, no insomnia, no jitters, and I can actually drive to and from my 11pm to 7:30am without falling asleep!! This has been for the past 4 yrs. When I had Keystone HMO health insurance, I had it filled at CVS,...no problems. I had been a customer there long enough that they knew I wasn't a one-script pill seeker, adddict, etc.I am a
Registered Nurse. 59 yrs.old! White hair!! But, now that I have no insurance and pay cash, I searched for the cheapest---Walmart is the winner at $79.50 for 90 tabs,...an 11 day supply for me. But, when my Walmart is 'out' of the generic---Amphetamine Salts---if I call other Pharmacies, they won't even tell me if they have enough to fill my Rx.!!! I usually am calling other Walmart Pharmacies, and they are online,...so, I always say,...I have gotten ALL my rx's filled at Walmart for the past 6 mos.,...you should be able to find me in your system....without fail,...they say--- nope,...you're not in there,,...sorry....CLICK...Arghhhhhhhh,.!!!!If I'm lucky enough to find the amt.of my Rz. But, the main problem are the Pharmacists that REFUSE to fill it because THEY feel the dose is too high! I try & try to explain that the dosage was
approved by 2 Docs., a Psychiatrist and my PCP...doesn't matter---they won't fill it!! So, I'm left to continueto call Pharmacies and try to fid it at not too insane a price. It is so stressful, ...I'm so tired of having to explain to all types
of medical-related persons, that have NO CLUE the hell I have been thru the past 5 yrs., climbing out of Fibro-fog,...regaining the ability to walk...unassisted!! Why do they torture me!!!!!!!

They are not doing it to torture you, though I understand it may feel that way.
This is a stimulant medication that is often abused and stolen. That is why they won't answer you on the phone, as to how much they carry and if they have enough to fill a certain prescription. I know it can be a pain, but you will get much better results if you go to the pharmacy in person, with the written prescription in hand.
When you call out of the blue, even to a Wal-Mart, where you have gotten it filled before, they have no way of knowing who you are and if you really have this kind of prescription for this amount of pills in your hand.
As to feeling the dose is too high, this is generally not up to the pharmacies, they should fill it if you have a proper doctor's prescription. In this case, have you ever tried consulting with the store or pharmacy manager?
