Lost Ability To Smell And Taste As A Side Effect Of Omnacortil

My Mother was down with acute bronchitis. Doctor prescribed her Omnacortil 20 MG for 4 days, then 10 mg for 4 days and finally 5 MG for 4 days. After completion of the medication, she completely recovered but as a side effect of the medication, it seems she is not able to smell anything or tastes any food. Initially she lost her ability to smell anything completely, however now she is able to smell sometime, erratically. So please help me understand how long it will take to completely regain her ability to taste and smell. Doctor said, she will gradually recover in 2 months time, but even after 2 months she has not recovered completely. It has been little over 2 months now. Please advise.
