I was just taken off Tekturna 150mg by my insurance Co. Blue Cross Blue shield of NC as they dont insure using Tekturna after insuring me for over a year. Now they have me on Losartan 100mg tabs. I am leary of new drugs. I had absolutly no problems with Tekturna what can I expect with Losartan 100mg? ## Losartan is an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Recently changed pharmacies. The old pharmacy dispensed in the manufacture bottle relabled with my script info. The dosage is 50 mg. The old script the pills are oval green color, with markings Side 1: 93 and side 2: 7365. The new pharmacy dispensed in a regular perscription bottle. The new pills are white, oblong with markings Side 1: P22 and side 2: LU. I questioned the difference with the pharmacy and they assured me it was correct. However I still have a concern. ## Yes, the tablets you received do contain 50mgs of Losartan, they are just manufactured by a different company, in this case Lupin Pharmaceuticals, while the ones you were getting at your old pharmacy with the 93 imprint were manufactured by Teva. was taking diovan/hct 320-25 worked well due to rising cost aprox.430.00 for 90 pills doc switched me to losartan/hct 100-25.started it 4 days ago have gotten a terrable pain in hip n my heart races a couple times a day will this go away or do i have to switch to somthing else. ## Have you consulted your doctor? can't tell what this pill is ## The closest match I found to this has the imprint "SZ 210" rather than "SZ 200". Is there any possibility that the marking has been misread? SZ 210 is identified as being Losartan potassium (25 mg). This is a round pink pill, manufactured by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Inc. I am getting a generic for my meds ....from a discount house. I cannot find the pill referenced on the normak searches. White football with 115 on it and 100 on the back. I am taking DIOVAN on vacation was sent LOSARTAN POT Is this the same medication? ## Actually, no! They are in the same class of medications, but Diovan contains the active ingredient Valsartan, so while it is used to treat the same conditions and is in the same class, Losartan is not the exact same thing. Have you consulted your doctor about this?

I have a presciption for losartan and the pills look different from my previous prescription. The imprint is 572 and they are round pill and white. Are they Losartan? ## Given the description provided, I located the pill marked M 572 to be Albuterol Sulfate (4 mg). This white round pill has the letter M on the top half of the pill divided by a score line with 572 imprinted on the bottom half. The backside of the pill is blank with no score. I have been taking the 100/25 pale yellow tablet mfg by TEVA. My pharmacist claims they cannot get the tablet due to formulation problems at the mfg. I have been taking a green tablet 100mg Losartan along with a separate HCTZ tablet made by IVAX. I have broken out in hives and itching. This is not the same formulation I was taking before. Going back to the Dr tomorrow. Has there been a report about this before? ## It certainly sounds like you may be allergic to something in one of the tablets. And yes, unfortunately, there has been a shortage. It was reported by all manufacturers a few months ago and was supposed to be resolved in a short period of time, but this obviously has not happened. I was taking Benicar tab 40mg my pharmacist sent me Losartan tab 100mg. Is that the equivalent or could this be a mistake? ## No, it is not the same medication. Benicar contains Olmesartan, so the Losartan is in the same class, but it is a different drug. Have you contacted them about it? Since they are in the same class, they work the same way, but such a switch shouldn't be made, without your doctors approval.

can i take levodyn as well as losartan potassium ## That is probably something that you will need to discuss with your doctor. No one over the internet can possibly know your medical history or how this drug affects you, as well as the benefits or disadvantages that it provides you when combined with another drug. My personal opinion is that it may not be a good idea to combine two high blood pressure medications; but rather use 1 of the medications along with some sort of natural remedy for hypertension. Also keep an eye on your diet and stay with low sodium foods such as fruits and vegetables.

What is a common ingredient found in Losartan, Lipitor, and Zoloft? The first two gave me a dry hacking cough, and now I am getting the same side effect from Zoloft.
