Losartan Manufacturer Nor

I have been on losartan 100mg 25mg HTCZ (LUP) for over 2 years. Recently pharmacy filled using a different manufacturer (NOR) and WOW!!! Once it was in my system I awoke in the middle of the night with dizziness to the point of waking me up. Thinking it was an inner ear issue I continued taking for almost a month. Dizziness and lightheadness continued but not as bad as the first night. (Several times during the day) I felt like I was walking around in a fog and almost felt like it was poisoning me. Went to the Dr. And back to the pharmacy to make sure I was put back on the drug I had been on for 2 years with little problems. I'm not one to complain only trying to help someone else before they spend a month trying to figure out what's going on.

Wow, Cindy! I am so very sorry about what you experienced.

It sounds like the new ones you'd received from your pharmacy may have had a little more of the active ingredient than the others, so they were too strong for you.

They are allowed to differ by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredient as compared to the name brand, but generics don't have to measure against each other.

The typical side effects of this medication may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension, as listed by the FDA.
