Losartan Potassium Dehydration?

I’m on Losatan Potassium 100 mg QD. I get terrible head sweats within 10 min of being in my garden. Plus very red face, dizzy head and headache. Am I dehydrated? I still have the unbalanced head and slight headache. Have been drinking Gatorade, maybe not enough, is it possible I feel this way because electrolytes are off?

Wow! I'm glad to hear you are ok now and that you found out what was happening. I guess the saying is true, too much of a good thing can still be bad for you.

Thank you for the info on Losartan potassium side effects, and head sweating . I did end up in ER.
They did however tell me because of the amount of water I drank in a short period of time was not good either because it just depleted my sodium. I drank about a gallon of water in about an hour. Then started with Gatorade. That was my saving grace. I guess I had heatstroke with dehydration.

After doing some research on Losartan Potassium pills/tablets I found some information that might be useful to you.

According to Dailymed these are some symptoms that people have reported having while on these pills.

- Side Effects:
- Dizziness
- Anemia
- Depression
- Somnolence
- Headache
- Sleep disorders
- Paresthesia
- Migraine
- Vertigo
- Tinnitus
- Palpitations
- Syncope
- Atrial fibrillation
- CVA
- Dyspnea
- Abdominal pain
- Constipation
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Urticaria
- Pruritus
- Rash
- photosensitivity
- Myalgia
- Arthralgia
- Impotence
- Edema
- Cough

While some of these symptoms are relevant with your medication I would like to point out that these are all also symptoms of being dehydrated. Gatorade contains sugars and electrolytes such as sodium and potassium, but nothing quite hydrates you like water. The American Institute of Health currently recommends drinking between 9 and 13 glasses of water in a day depending on your body size.

Regardless of what is causing these symptoms it may be in your best interest to contact your doctor and discuss these concerns with him/her so that you can come up with an action plan to get you back in action in the garden.
