Losartan Combizar

Hello! I have just been prescribed losartan +HCTZ by my doctor. I was told that once I take this, it is for life. Is there any chance of doing away with this medication and use alternative medicine instead( fish oi, garlic, etc)? I am not overweight and my triglycerides are fine. If I stick to proper diet and more consistent gym sessions, can I do away with combizar? Thank you.

No, it doesn't necessarily have to be for life, there are people that do get their hypertension under control via proper exercise and being very careful with their diets. Some supplements can also help.

The important thing to remember is to not just stop taking it abruptly. You should consult your doctor and, if it seems you're doing well and may be able to stop it, it should be done slowly and carefully under their supervision.

The reason for this is because an abrupt stop could cause a rebound effect, which could cause dangerously elevated heart and blood pressure levels.
